Commencement 2024 Accessibility

ASL (American Sign Language) interpreters will be provided for all ceremonies; ASL users do not need to make individual requests for this. Attendees who need to see the ASL interpreters will be directed to dedicated seating close to the interpreters when they arrive.

If you are a student participating in the commencement ceremony and you have an accessibility request, or you have a guest with an accessibility request, please contact Disability Resources. Please submit your request by May 1, 2024. We will make every effort to accommodate requests after this date; earlier notification is appreciated.

Captioning will be provided for all live streamed ceremonies.

Accessible Parking
Anderson Student Center Underground Parking is reserved for guests with state issued handicapped permits. This parking will be on a first-come first-serve basis.

Drop-Off Location
Guests who need to be close to the fieldhouse may be dropped off in the on the west side of the building. Enter from Cretin Avenue north bound just north of Summit Avenue. For safety reasons, drop-off or pick-up along Summit Avenue or Cretin Avenue North will not be permitted.

Accessible seating
There is no designated seating area for guests with accessibility needs. Ushers will assist guests as they are seated.

Wheelchair & Scooter Rental
Because of the layout of the campus and the distances from the parking locations to the ceremony site and in order to have an enjoyable event, some have found a wheelchair or scooter of great assistance. Guests in need of mobility equipment may contact the following two local businesses who are willing to assist with these requests. Rental arrangements are made on an individual basis with these companies prior to the day of commencement and are on a first come first serve basis.
