How much product should we make, and when? How many employees do we need? How do we effectively and efficiently deliver products or services? Companies in every industry struggle to answer these fundamental questions and rely on operations management experts to provide strategic recommendations.
In this degree program, you’ll take core business courses, as well as specialized Operations and Supply Chain Management courses. Learn to analyze and improve all types of processes, and how to leverage statistics and technology to make informed operational decisions. You’ll also work one-on-one with a faculty advisor—an experienced operations professional—who will guide and support your studies. When you major or minor in Operations and Supply Change Management, you prepare to help organizations of all types run more efficiently and profitably.

Course Requirements
All undergraduate business students are required to take liberal arts core curriculum courses, foundational and major-specific business courses, and allied courses from outside the College of Business in key areas such as economics, math, and statistics.
Operations and Supply Chain Management Major Courses
St. Thomas also offers a minor in Operations & Supply Chain Management, where students from diverse majors can gain a comprehensive understanding of how supply chains function. Students pursuing a major in Operations and Supply Chain Management are not eligible for the Operations and Supply Chain Management minor.

In addition to your major courses, you’ll also take interdisciplinary liberal arts courses in the throughout your four years.
Degree Awarded
Students who complete the required coursework receive a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a major in Operations and Supply Chain Management or a Minor in Operations and Supply Chain Management.

John Tacke '16
During his time at the Opus College of Business, John was an involved member of Delta Sigma Pi on campus. He made valuable connections with faculty, and other professional relationships on campus that allowed him to obtain various internships while attending UST - helping him figure out exactly what he wanted to pursue. John also attended London Business Semester allowing him to see the world from a different perspective while getting ahead on his studies. John now manages Target’s recommerce planning/reverse logistics space at Target Headquarters while also managing his own real estate business with Keller Williams.

Kyle Goldschmidt, PhD
It was Goldschmidt’s experience in manufacturing that inspired his interest in operations and supply chain management. He brings this experience into the classroom where he teaches both graduate and undergraduate courses.
Sameer Kumar, PhD
Sameer Kumar focuses on providing research leadership and a strong commitment to teaching and service. He has published over 275 archival journal articles and seven books.

Muer Yang's teaching philosophy centers on the translation of knowledge into practical skills that bridge the classroom and real business environments.
Learning Through Service: Business 200
We believe that businesses need to be socially responsible in the communities where they operate. All undergraduate business majors and minors are required to complete BUSN 200, a zero-credit, tuition-free course that includes 40 hours of community service and a series of reflective seminars. This service learning helps you grow into a highly principled global business professional, and an effective and ethical leader who’s prepared to make positive contributions in both your profession and community.
